Our Methodology
FOUR PILLARS.
ONE SYSTEM.
AI doesn’t rank you the way Google does. It retrieves, verifies, and names. Each pillar below is one condition an AI system needs before it will cite your brand. Miss one, and the chain breaks.
PILLAR 01
Entity Clarity
Who are you?
AI can’t recommend an entity it can’t identify. We build one single, unambiguous identity:
- Server-rendered schema — not JavaScript-injected
- Wikidata & knowledge-graph alignment
- Consistent NAP (name · address · phone) across the web
- Multilingual alignment — EN / 中文 / BM
- Disambiguation — you, and not the three other companies with your name
PILLAR 02
Evidence & Consensus
Why trust you?
AI cross-references what the web says about you against what you say about yourself. We build independent proof:
- Media mentions & digital PR
- Reviews on real platforms
- Community answers — Reddit, forums, YouTube, TikTok, Lemon8, Xiaohongshu
- Directory & registry presence
- All reinforcing the same facts, consistently
PILLAR 03
Retrieval Architecture
Can AI read you?
If crawlers can’t reach your content, you don’t exist. We fix the plumbing:
- robots.txt & llms.txt configured for AI crawlers
- Server-rendered content — no JavaScript walls
- Canonical governance — no duplicate, conflicting pages
- CDN & security layers audited — no silent bot blocking
- Crawl depth & internal linking AI can follow
PILLAR 04
AI Query Mapping
Do you get asked?
Visibility only matters on questions people actually ask. We map them and answer them:
- Real customer prompts, documented per platform
- Structured answers built to be retrieved verbatim
- Semantic coverage measured against competitor answers
- Prompt testing — watching how AI describes you, and fixing drift
We don’t persuade AI. We engineer understanding.
Most Asked Questions
The questions buyers ask us most.
GEO is new, so healthy skepticism is reasonable. Here are straight answers to the things people ask before they commit.
Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitor but not me?+
Because AI has verified proof about them — mentions, reviews, consistent data — and not enough about you yet. That gap is fixable.
I rank #1 on Google. Why doesn’t AI mention me?+
Google ranking is one signal. AI checks your story across the whole web — if it isn’t consistent, it won’t say your name.
What is GEO?+
You used to Google, click through ten links, and decide for yourself who to trust. Now AI does that work: it reads thousands of sources — websites, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, forums — and when someone asks for the best micellar water, it names the brand it trusts most. GEO is the work of making sure that brand is you.
Isn’t this just SEO with a new name?+
SEO gets you found by search engines. GEO gets you known by AI. They stack — they don’t replace.
What if AI is already saying something wrong about my business?+
That’s the first thing we fix. We find the wrong or outdated statements, correct the source data feeding them, and keep monitoring so they don’t come back.
ChatGPT already mentions my product. Why would I need GEO?+
That mention is your SEO carrying forward — but SEO used to be the finish line. Now it’s the starting line. AI re-crawls and re-trains every few months, and rankings can shift each cycle. GEO makes your spot deliberate, not inherited — and keeps it after the next update.
How long until I get listed?+
Anyone who quotes you an exact date is guessing. The honest version: entity fixes can appear in live AI answers within days; consensus takes 60–90 days to build and get picked up; and each platform refreshes on its own clock. That’s why we monitor daily — you see the exact day your name appears, not a promise in a PDF.
How is Apex GEO different from other GEO agencies?+
Most “GEO agencies” right now are selling traditional SEO — backlinks, guest posts, keyword content — with GEO words layered on top. We’re built on three things standard SEO doesn’t cover: entity clarity (structured data AI can actually parse), third-party consensus (real presence on YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, forums — not backlink placements), and prompt testing (checking real AI queries and fixing how AI describes you). If a provider can’t show work in all three, it’s probably SEO under a new label.
Do you guarantee my brand will be recommended by ChatGPT?+
No — and anyone who guarantees specific AI citations should be questioned. Nobody controls what a third-party AI model says; the models change constantly. What we guarantee is the work itself: proper entity clarity, genuine consensus, documented prompt testing — the inputs that make citation more likely over time, not a promised output.
What makes your consensus approach different from backlink-building?+
Link building gets sites to link to you, to influence Google’s ranking. AI weighs something else — genuine, independent conversation about your brand, wherever it actually happens. We focus on YouTube, TikTok, Lemon8, Reddit, and forums, because that’s where AI finds the organic consensus signals it trusts most — not backlink profiles.
Do you use fake reviews, bot traffic, or paid engagement?+
No. AI is increasingly able to tell authentic consensus from manufactured promotion — faking it isn’t just unethical, it’s technically ineffective now too. Everything we build is genuine, disclosed activity.
Why trust a smaller, founder-led practice over a big agency?+
GEO is genuinely new, so a large agency’s “GEO team” may be a few people rebranding old SEO workflows. With us, you work directly with the person doing the audit, schema, and prompt testing — not routed through account managers to a junior team. Direct accountability, no diluted communication. Capacity is intentionally limited — by design, not something to apologize for.
Are you Malaysia/Singapore-specific, or a global generalist?+
Specific. We’re built around MY/SG SME needs — local context, local competitors, and regional platforms (Lemon8, Xiaohongshu, local forums alongside YouTube/TikTok/Reddit) that a global generalist overlooks.
What happens after the project — do I pay you forever?+
No, and that’s a deliberate difference. Our core packages are one-time projects — you own the schema, the consensus placements, and the strategy permanently, like owning a website build. Ongoing AI-mention monitoring is available separately for brands that want continuous tracking, but it’s optional, not required to keep results working.
How do I know your methodology works, if GEO is so new?+
Healthy skepticism is reasonable. Instead of an inflated track record, we offer full transparency into the methodology (published openly), real diagnostic examples of how AI-readability issues get found and fixed, and pricing that doesn’t lock you into a long retainer before results are proven.
What technical depth do you go into, vs. a typical SEO audit?+
A standard SEO audit checks page speed, meta tags, backlinks. Our entity audit goes further — whether schema is server-rendered or JavaScript-injected (most audits miss this; it’s invisible to a browser but critical to AI crawlers), whether robots.txt and llms.txt block AI crawlers, and whether a CDN or security layer is silently blocking AI bots at the network level before they reach your content.
Do you only work with big brands?+
No — our focus is specifically SMEs in Malaysia and Singapore: aesthetic clinics, retail chains, F&B, specialist retailers. Pricing is structured as a one-time investment so smaller businesses aren’t forced into long retainers to start.
GEO sounds new. Is this even a real field, or am I your guinea pig?+
It’s young — about two years old, not two decades like SEO. What isn’t new is the mechanics: structured data, third-party verification, content architecture are all established practices, just applied to how AI reads and trusts information. You’re not funding an experiment. You’re getting proven fundamentals applied to a new environment.
What if I pay and AI still doesn’t mention my brand?+
Nobody, including us, controls what a third-party AI model chooses to say. What we can guarantee is the work itself: correct entity structure, real third-party consensus, and content built around the exact questions your customers ask AI. Those are the conditions that make citation more likely over time. We won’t promise an outcome no one can honestly promise.
How is this different from the SEO agency that burned me before?+
Fair question if you’ve been burned. Two differences worth checking for yourself: we don’t guarantee rankings or citations, because nobody honestly can, and our packages are structured so you own the work permanently rather than being locked into an endless retainer. If a past agency kept billing you for vague “ongoing optimization” with no clear deliverable, that’s exactly the pattern we built our pricing to avoid.
Can you prove this works, or is it all theory?+
Right now, honestly, we’re building our track record the same as anyone new to this field. What we can show instead of an inflated case study: the actual audit methodology, real technical findings from real websites, and a transparent process you can watch happen — not just take our word for.
What if AI says something wrong — can it get worse before better?+
This is exactly what our monitoring is for. AI systems can drift or hallucinate incorrect details about any brand over time, whether or not you hire anyone. Catching that early and correcting it at the source is part of the ongoing work, not a separate emergency service.
Do I need to understand the technical stuff myself?+
No. Our job is to explain what we’re doing and why in plain terms when you want it — not to require you to become a technical expert to work with us.
Is “GEO” a made-up term to sell me the same SEO with a new name?+
It’s a real, recognized shift, not a made-up label. Search itself is genuinely changing — more people ask AI directly instead of clicking search results. But you’re right to be skeptical of anyone who just adds “GEO” to their SEO page without changing what they actually deliver. Ask any provider, including us, to show specifically what’s different in the work, not just the name.
How long before I actually see a difference?+
Technical foundation work (schema, entity structure) can be completed and verified within weeks. Third-party consensus and AI citation behavior take longer — typically a few months — because they depend on AI systems recrawling and updating, which isn’t instant and isn’t something any provider controls the timeline on.
What if my competitor hires you too?+
We work with one business per category per market. If a direct competitor of an existing client approaches us, we tell you and let you decide — rather than quietly serving both sides.
I don’t even know what to ask ChatGPT about my industry. How would I know if it’s working?+
That’s part of what we build with you, not something you figure out alone. Part of the process is identifying the real questions your customers already ask AI — so you see the actual prompts and actual AI responses, not just a report claiming progress.
